This Morning host Alison Hammond has spoken about her weight and struggle with prediabetics after losing her mother, who had diabetes before she sadly passed away.
Alison Hammond was pretty open about her weight battles, and in a new interview she did This morning The hostess announced that her mother’s health struggle was one of the main catalysts for her to make a positive change.

Speak with The sunshe explained that the turning point came after the second lockdown. “Lockdown was bad for me in terms of weight,” she said. “I couldn’t control my food or exercise. It got to a point where my doctor said, ‘You have to do something about it, Alison.'”

Alison’s doctor’s concern is heightened by Alison’s prediabetic disease, which Alison revealed in November 2020 and which opened her eyes since her late mother who had diabetes (she sadly died in February 2020 after a battle with liver and lung cancer).

“Until then, I had never had any health problems,” she said. “It scared me because my mother had diabetes and I want to be there for my son.”
Now, however, Alison has turned her health and even her pre-diabetes diagnosis upside down. “I’ve decided to do something about it. I go for walks and avoid sugar,” she said. “I’m much better. I don’t weigh myself because you can feel it in my clothes.
Alison previously spoke about her pre-diabetes diagnosis on an episode of This Morning. “I have news,” she told the audience. “I’m ready to share. I found out that I am pre-diabetic and I need your help.
“I have to change my ways and I need your help and that includes you, when you see me out there with chocolates and sweets, I beg you that I am not allowed to have it. I have to change my ways. I’m serious. I wanted you to know, I think you know what, there are a lot of people with prediabetes and I have a chance to change it. “
